Signs you may need a correction
- The colour of the restorations does not match your natural teeth or your face.
- The shape or size of the teeth looks unnatural.
- Visible edges or gaps at the gumline.
- Gum irritation or inflammation around the restorations.
- Breakage, cracking or loss of a restoration.
- Sensitivity or an uncomfortable bite.
- The colour of restorations and veneers changing after some time.
How we approach your case
- Examination and listening: we assess your teeth, gums and existing restorations (photos and X-rays if needed) and understand exactly what bothers you.
- Honest assessment: is a simple adjustment enough, do the restorations need replacing, or is there a deeper issue (gums, bite) that is treated first?
- Digital design of the proposed result, which we review together before any procedure.
- Careful removal of the old restorations to preserve as much natural tooth as possible. In most cases we remove old restorations with a water laser, which protects natural teeth and reduces sensitivity during removal.
- Placing the new result and follow-up.
Treatment time: it varies from case to case, but on average most cases take about two weeks.
What can be improved
Depending on the case, the plan may include: redesigning veneers or crowns, matching colour, reshaping the gum line if needed (which I perform myself), and balancing the bite. We explain honestly what to expect and the limits of improvement in your case.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to replace all my restorations?
Not necessarily. Sometimes adjusting some of them is enough, and we decide after the examination.
Do you treat restorations made by another dentist?
Yes, we assess any case regardless of who performed it.
Is the treatment painful?
It is not painful, but sometimes, to add to your comfort, we use a local anaesthetic when needed.
How long does a case take?
It varies with the number of teeth and the type of problem. We tell you the time after the examination.
Can I see the result before we start?
Yes, through digital design and a trial smile if needed.
